JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Bistro Cook will prepare all hot and cold food items for service in the Bistro. They will work closely with the Bistro Attendants to ensure all guest orders are properly fulfilled in a timely manner, and guest expectations are exceeded. They will assist in the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, and complete prep and stocking of all food items. There are two different shifts for this position – an AM shift which assists with breakfast and coffee service, and a PM shift which assists with dinner and bar service.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Attend all daily, weekly and/or monthly department/hotel meetings to ensure proper communication/planning occurs.
- Inventory food, supplies and equipment weekly. Request supplies as needed.
- Complete closing duties, including restocking items, cleaning, requisition of all necessary supplies.
- Prepare all food items according to the established recipes and procedures in a sanitary and timely manner.
- Maintain a clean workstation at all times.
- Restock items throughout the shift and complete prep for future business needs.
- Work with the Bistro Attendants to ensure all guests are satisfied, and maintain flexibility with requests and dietary restrictions.
- Receives, dates, and examines foodstuffs and supplies to ensure quality and quantity meet established standards and specifications.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
EXPERIENCE:
Previous experience as a line cook at a hotel, resort or restaurant. They must be available to work when needed, based upon staffing needs and business demands, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
